My son and his wife are coming to settle in Vancouver from 22nd August and wish to rent a house for three/six months while they look around and decide where to live with their two small children. Can you help with ideas. Thanks Ken.

Sublets in university neighborhoods or from faculty on sabbatical? There might be some sort of a faculty housing office that maintains listings that can be used by the general public. Or use university contacts and check campus newspapers and bulletin boards for such ads.

Otherwise, an extended stay hotel is likely to be tough on the family for that length of time. There are probably some executive serviced apartments in the city, but these are unlikely to be kid-friendly and the good ones will be expensive. The Sutton Place Hotel has residential apartments, mostly in one tower, but I would not recommend this.
