Some different ideas link
I wasn't sure if I was reading the Onion or not as some of the suggestions seemed to be a bit of a stretch. Most of the other thoughts have been combed over many times. As for the first idea there are already ways available to speed up the process of handling passengers loading and unloading. A long time ago certain aircraft were designed for 2 Jetway loading. 747s, 767s and 757s actually would load/unload using two doors at some airports. I rarely see this done today, but when it is, it's much faster and substantially cheaper than "container" planes.
has this person ever flown a plane? In most cases, the safety videos and demonstrations are done when the plane is taxiing. So, I would argue that no time is lost.
