Recent Experience - AVIS @ ATL

    Hi Everyone,

    On average, I rent a car in ATL every other month or so...I've been AVIS First for a while, but never seen any apparent benefit to it.

    A couple of weeks ago, I arrived to pick up a car. In the end, I was on my 4th car by the time I left the rental car facility...dirty, stained, high mileage, broken, etc. The agents were helpful, but it definitely took some patience in finding a relatively clean compact car (with Bluetooth) with less than 20k miles.

    I completed the email survey indicating the good service but car-related challenges.

    Yesterday, Avis sent an email with $25 off, a free upgrade, or a free day on a 2-day rental....I think this is the first time I've received a response for a survey.

    Glad they have reacted this way! Thanks for your insights, as all this is new to me, have never rented a car in my entire life so far!

    took me 3 times to get Hertz to respond to my complaint about their LAS staff and "premium" grand marquis and crown vic. they claimed they were sending $50 in coupons to me. four weeks later..... nothing. glad you got something from them!

    A follow up on this - when I got to the US last weekend, I also had a voicemail from a manager asking me to call them about this.

    I use Avis at ATL, and I'd bet that response is due to being AVIS First.
    What I find is that while the cars may be more nicer, they may also be more worn.;)

    I just rented a car in Atlanta from Avis and although the staff could not have been nicer -- and did give me an upgrade -- the car I was given had a strong smoke smell.
