A TRAVEL company using the F-word in advertising swears it's not obscene.

Geckos Adventures' revamped website and brochures read: "May your heart be light, your step swift and your stories f---ing epic".

The company says the pitch suits its style of travel to culture-shock destinations and resonates with its 18- to 35-year-old target audience.

"People have been embracing it and loving it," head of marketing Kirsten Cameron said.

"We see it as part of the everyday language of our customers. If you find it offensive and can't deal with it, don't go on our tours. You are not going to enjoy our style of trip.

I love this company's response. This is potentially a great segmentation tool: if you're that offended, you wouldn't have liked us anyhow. If you love it, give us a shot.

PS - A news site trying to get me to pay and log-in to view this story is obscene.
