Yesterday I recd' a cal from Beverly with the Executive Plat Desk. She was calling simply to thank me for my business and ask me how they are doing for me. That was it. W had a nice chat about the merger, and I expressed my fears about how it would likely dilute my flying experience with the uber cost conscious Dougie team in place. Of course she had to tiptoe around the whole topic, but we had a nice chat. There didn't seem to be any other reason for the call but to say "Thanks!". When she asked if there was anything they could do to improve the EXP experience, I suggested that they make 3MM lifetime EXP like UA does. She didn't sound hopeful.

Anyone else getting the random Thank You calls?

This is pretty common. AA does this on a regular basis and we see stories about these calls popping up every few months. Hope you enjoyed the chat and gave some good feedback. :)

It only took them 10 years of EXP status to get around to calling me!

I've never been called. I was TOP (an unpublished tier) until EXP was introduced and except for one year, I have been EXP ever since, and AAdvantage since it was introduced in 1981 . I suspect they safely take me for granted, even though they only get about a third of my business.

If they call me back I will ask them to give you a ring! They should be sending you a Christmas card.

And I've never been called myself. Of course they aren't calling everyone in the directory every year. But they call enough that we know it happens on a regular basis. There's actually a few threads here on MP stating the same. :)

Unless you're US Air - then you do it twice within a three year period and "merge" with (ahem... get acquired by) America West :)

I think Beverly is actually from the Key Concierge desk (I'm pretty sure there are only 5 or so people in the group). I've been called two times in the past 6 years (each time by Beverly, I think) around Jul/Aug only after I had taken a break from AA for several months. The conversation has always started as, "How are things going on AA and is there anything we can do for you?"

Actually when aa.com first began to operate I was among the beta users. They gave me a nice leather legal pad binder that I still have, as well as a handful of otehr goodies. So I did them a disservice by reporting accurately taht they never gave me one of those open ended calls. I was part of quite a few focus groups, interview sessions and the like but all of them were decades ago.
