If you have children either studying or traveling in Europe this spring or if you are planning an extended European vacation yourself, you can save hassle and money using trains.

Rail Europe, www.raileurope.com, is offering an additional two, three or five days of rail travel for free, with the purchase of the 15-day, 21-day or one-month pass, respectively.

Rail Europe also has a German Rail Pass Promo, offering a 20% discount on that pass, good for rail travel for 5 or 6 days within one month. Booking must be made before 5 p.m. on March 29, 2013 and travel must be completed by May 31, 2013.

I got the german pass during Christmas markets 2 years ago, and they had a similar promo..it was 20% off..worked out to be dirt cheap for 6 days...like 175 a person or something. we saved a fortune with it.
