Checking for friends who live in West Palm and would like to go to Sweden and Norway. I can find them awards in business for 50,000 each way with mixed cabins. Going to ARN returning OSL, most is Business but PBI to EWR is Economy and not a problem for them.

Question - when they return to EWR can they get a long stopover (like 3 weeks) and then continue on at a later date? If so, do you have to call CO for this type ticket? I should know this but never book this type of award:confused:

Sounds like you want an open jaw (arrive ARN, return from OSL) and a stopover (in New York). Continental allows this.

Oh, another question - I think part of the legs were on Lufthansa - would this still be allowed or is it just CO that allows this.
    Many thanks

The routing rules are defined by the program from which you are redeeming miles, not the operating carrier of the segments. Similarly, even though US doesn't permit one-way awards it is possible to book such using CO or UA miles on US metal.
