Anyone going? Thought there was a possible meet up planned.
Have most days booked but still looking for April 26-30th.
Any ideas on where to stay?

I stayed in Marriott on Leidseplein one year, I can recommend the location. Close enough to the action that you can walk everywhere, which is necessary on this crazy day. But also quiet enough that you can get some sleep. One year I stayed in a dump on Warmoestraat (red light district) and could not get any sleep all night due to people in the streets, even from the night before (Queens Night).

If you really want a quiet place, the Hilton is nice on the banks of a canal. But you'll be a little bit away from most things on Queens Day.

    Have fun!

Any tips on the craziness? Whether to take a laptop or not?

I did not spend much time at all in the hotels, so a laptop not worth bringing for me.

Regarding the craziness, it's all over the place really. I'd get a program to see if what's happening where. There a a lot of house and techno music going on, and every little square (plein) will be filled with people, drinks and music. I'd get up early and see a bit of what second hand stuff people are selling, apparently they get up early to secure the best spots in the city during this free market day. The Vondel Park also had a lot of kids selling stuff.

Basically, dress up in something orange, have a few beers if that's your thing and enjoy the concerts, people and food.

Have a mix of a B&B and a NH Amsterdam Centre since hotels are hard to get.
Just have the 29th left to book. Am looking forward to the fun.
