Just a quick question... This is my first time as an SPG platinum (just qualified last week - woot!), and I have a reservation made at the St. Regis Punta Mita in December. When I booked the reservation, I was not yet platinum. Is there a reason to be concerned that they won't properly see me as a platinum guest prior to arrival? I obviously want as high of a chance of an upgrade as I can get! Thanks!

The change is made automatically in SPG's systems and they send a daily report of elite members arriving to the hotels so they can prepare for their arrival; however, if the hotel doesn't access these reports and manually update their PMS onsite, then it can be missed. If you are a suspenders and belt type of person, like I am, I would call up Platinum Concierge and ask them to call the property while you are on the phone to be certain they have you as a Platinum member now.

I would call the hotel and make sure your Plat is on the reservation, sometimes the system doesn't do it automaticly.
    Have a great upgrade!
