This week Hartsfield-Jackson, the world’s busiest airport, introduced a series of quick response (QR) codes that will offer discounts on purchases made at various food, beverage and retail outlets in the airport. The codes can be scanned using smartphones that have downloaded an application which allows the device to read them. They can be found on more than 30 ads throughout the airport and when scanned, the two-dimensional QR codes will direct passengers to the airport’s mobile Web site, iflyatl.com, where they will find downloadable discount coupons for InMotion Entertainment, BlackBerry from Wireless Giant, Savannah’s Candy Kitchen and others. The mobile site also includes airport maps and a store/restaurant locator.

You can get a free drink at Atlanta Bread Co, though I don't remember where their QR code is located. The vendors are surprisingly knowledgeable about it.
