Saw this today and thought I'd share. Didn't see any postings on it yet.
I think you got the date back to front, format for dates in Australia is day/month/year, and if you get it backwards then it is always best to use the word month then day so it would be May 7, which would save any confusion.
One thing the guides can't edit is topic headings.
I posed the date as an American, so the 5/7/2011 date (May 7, 2011) is corrected based on the article. If the article is wrong, that's a whole different story!
Guides should be able to edit titles in the near future I believe. For now, I think this thread is fine though. If we get title change authority I'll come back and update the title with "May 7, 2011" though by then it'll be old news....

I know someone that was on the flight. Apparently not much. There was a 'LAST QANTAS FLIGHT OUT OF SFO GOODBYE QANTAS!' sign at the gate at SFO and apparently some staff had glow-sticks on-board, but apart from that, not much else.
The general mood at SFO was sad for the staff too.
I'm going to miss QF73/74. Was always my preferred way of getting to and from LOTFAP.
I'll steal the
Yes, I knew someone on the flight, not much fan fare according to this article.
You might know Keith as QF009.
