"The Transport workers Union (TWU), which represents 3,800 Qantas’ (QF) baggage handlers and ground staff, has instructed its members to walk off the job Tuesday.
The action will take place for 4-hr. during the morning peak in most airports and the afternoon peak in Canberra and Adelaide, as well as place a ban on higher duties, which could impact operations for two days.
QF will deploy larger aircraft, consolidate flights and use management staff to act in operational roles to try to minimize disruptions to passengers. The TWU now joins the airline’s engineers and long-haul pilots in taking action because ofpay and job security issues."

Did this strike actually have any significant effect. I saw a bit of a video clip on one of the Aussie newspapers and heard the blurb about them not wanting to outsource jobs overseas, but have to wonder how they think a baggage handlers job could be moved off shore.
