Starting in February 2012, some passengers on Qantas A380 flights from Los Angeles to Syndey and Melbourne will have a new i-flight amenity: Wi-Fi service. The Australian carrier announced it will install Internet access technology on six of its Airbus A380s for use on those routes. “The trial will initially be available to customers traveling in the First and Business cabins and will form part of Qantas’ ongoing strategic evaluation of connectivity options, including the review of next-generation technology platforms,” Qantas said. In other news, Qantas has reached an agreement with its mechanics’ union, putting an end to an acrimonious conflict that disrupted the airline’s schedule repeatedly during the past few months.

This should have read 'QF finally turns on the wifi that their A380's were delivered with, and get Internet working, over 3 years late'. When QF announced the A380 they boasted it would have in-flight internet. Shortly before delivery, that went very silent, and references to it were removed.

    Better late than never!
