What are the odds of another round of double preferred qualifying miles promos this year?

Agree. A lot on their plates right now. But, it will ultimately come down to whether they think their elites are trailing for requalification. If so, they'll do DEQMs. If not, no.

    Zero. American doesn't have PQM.

Wouldn't USdbaAA switch it to Preferred Qualifying Miles?

Why would they even think of changing the name from the program that pioneered FF miles to one of the crappiest NA airline programs around?

Not likely if they're dbaAA. That's kind of the point of them becoming American and ditching the US name/program.

Besides, that wouldn't happen this year, anyway. This year you would still need EQM.

Sorry for the wrong word choice I meant double EQM.

No problem. American is a strange bird e cause you have EQM, EQP and segments.

I agree with others, we're unlikely to see a system wide promo this quarter - but I think we might see DEQM on limited numbers of highly competitive routes to induce traffic to stay on AA without sacrificing price.

Targeted DEQM is also my bet. Ideally not limited to people who are in market based on mailing address :)

That would depend on wanting to incent O/D vs. including connecting traffic. That would likely be route dependent, too.

I was trying to make a joke with the USdbaAA- in reference to the UA/CO merger where a lot of the loyal flyers from the united side used the term COdbaUA to express their view of CO taking over United and applying all their enhancements.
