I have already booked my nights. Can anyone tell me if it is retroactive? Or should I cancel my previous reservations and reserve again?

You'll be fine. I got this from the Hhonors rep on FT:

-All eligible stays will count towards the Q2 promo regardless of booking date or check-in/check-out date of the stay.
    • If you register for the promotion prior to checking in and/or prior to checking out and have an eligible stay inclusive of dates falling within the promotion period, you will receive points for the entire stay, regardless of check-in or check-out dates.
    • If a stay is booked prior to the promotional period, however is consumed within the promotional period, you may register and participate in this promotion.

Nothing really that exciting about this promo to make me rush to wildly book rooms. We have one booking for Hilton Portland in April so that just may be it for Q2 for this chain.

Based on the amount of points we would receive after 5 nights, Hyatt's promotion is twice as good as this one.

Not only is this a bad promo, they used pretty much the same name from Starwood's Q1 promotion!

But at least 1000 SPG points is worth more.

I see some Advance Purchase rate codes are not eligible.

How does one see on their reservation the actual code? All mine says is "Advance Purchase".

    Thanks.

You'll probably need to call in and verify. If I remember correctly, that list was pretty extensive. Good luck.

I updated the OP with the official FAQ. According to the FAQ, award stays will earn bonus points.

Agreed, it's a nice little extra for staying there anyway, but not enough to push someone over to Hilton.

Well I'm in a Hilton 4 nights a week at the moment so I've done rather well out of the Q1 promotion. I've averaged 40k points a week. I recon this one is going to get me about 20k a week, so half the return. But that's actually better than I expected. I knew that last quarter's offer was exceptional given my travel patterns.

I'm getting about 8k base a week depending on the exchange rate. 50% bonus on base is another 4k plus 2k gold bonus rising to 4k when I make diamond in 2 stays time. Plus 4k from the new promotion.

All adds up to 20k a week for a four night stay every week.

    Roz.

That really irks me. If they are going to list the ineligible rate codes such as they did, then we should be able to log in and identify/confirm our booked rate codes online. We shouldn't have to call up and confirm.

As a rule of thumb, is there a certain type of rate that won't be eligible: prepaid "online only" rates..."best available rate" ...... Please clear this up. Thanks!

    Hello Rittenhousesq;

The excluded rates are typically third party rates and advance purchase rates available through booking channels that are not supported by Hilton HHonors. Therefore, these rates are not eligible for the bonus points associated with the offer.

    Thank you and kindest regards.
