Q: Which Carrier for Premium Economy?

Discussion in 'Australia/New Zealand/South Pacific' started by paperloaf, Oct 30, 2011.  |  Print Topic

  1. I’m heading to Australia on business in November and not really sure who to fly. Has anyone got any recommendations? I won’t be flying business as my company stopped doing that! But I should be ok to get a premium economy or equivalent. Should I go with Qantas as they’re the Aussie airline, or is someone else a better bet?

Is earning miles (redeemable and/or elite qualifying) a concern?

    Personally, I'm a big fan of NZ's new Y+.

41" on 777-200 aircraft and 38 to 40" on 747 aircraft. Pretty darn nice!

No need to fight with your seatmate for the armrest too ;) Kind of looks like a C product on some airlines!

If you have a good amount of miles, might as well upgrade to their great looking C seats as well!

That was my first thought, someone used the wrong photo! :p

  7. This is one factor to consider - I don't want to miss out on eqm's unnecessarily, but more than that I just want to minimize the impact of the shift from business to economy. (I'm sure I'll survive either way - but you know when you're flying often...)

  8. That looks great - do you know roughly the angle of reclining available in those seats?

The pictured product is only on 77W a/c. 747 & 777 are more like an economy seat but with more legroom. 747 has 3 & 2 on upper deck, and 2 & 2 on lower deck. 777 is 3-3-3 and is to be avoided.
