    Thyetus -

Thanks for the update on this. A quick question - this is essentially a 1000 starpoint bonus for buying the upsell to a club room - it wouldn't count on "I got upgraded to club." So, effectively, as long as the cost for buying up to a club room is less than the cost of 1000 starpoints, this is a good deal for elites. Otherwise, it's aimed at non-elites (who wouldn't normally get club access/rooms).

    Right?

Since Thyetus is sleeping at the moment, I'll take a stab at this. ;)

The 1,000 Starpoints bonus is for purchasing a club level room booked through the club site or through the Customer Contact Center using the promotion code. It would not apply in upgrade situations.

Perfect, thanks! It'll at least be worth checking the price difference on upcoming itineraries to see if its worth the 1000 points!

It should also provide some "entertainment" in the clubs for people not used to having access, and on here when said people do things worth discussing. :)

Sometimes special rates like AAA and AARP offer club rooms for not much more (if any) than regular rooms, but these rates don't seem to be eligible for the points either as you must book using specific rate codes.

I was able to save a bit of money and get 1,000 pts more on one night of one of my itineraries. Didn't work for the rest of my upcoming stays, but am happy with this for the one night, anyway.
