Is this something new? I do not recall this feature when I had the card two years ago.

It is. I think that may be one of the best benefits. I have 11k returned from my last two stays.

I signed up for a Priority Club member number.
Does anyone know how to be targeted for the 80K point promotion?

That would be the golden goose.

I have seen suggested: signing up in the PC forums; opt-in for emails; stay at their hotels and pay with another credit card.

At the time I received my 80k offer, I had no stays whatsoever, paid or otherwise. I joined the program about 1/2 year earlier and basically did surveys and contests and a few other things. I don't visit the PC forums, but did op-in for emails. So, who knows what the criteria is? I've since had stay activity, but that was after getting the 80k card.

If you can't wait for an 80k offer. Here is a 60k link!

Does anyone have a recent data point re: 10% rebate on award stays? The T&C say 4 to 6 weeks after the stay, but I've also read reports of people getting rebates in just a few weeks. I'm just wondering what people are currently experiencing in terms of timing.

Hmm, I had an award stay that ended on Feb 1st but still haven't received a rebate. It's a fairly decent amount of points I'm expecting back. I used the card to secure the reservation, so I guess I'll give it another couple weeks and then chase it down.

Thanks a bunch for the info!

After two reward stays in 2 weeks, I had one that posted quickly (2-3 weeks) and one that required two emails to customer service plus 5 weeks.

Ok, that's also good to know - thanks. Sounds like I'll need to be on top of this one if I don't see the rebate soon. Appreciate the heads up.

I finally got a rebate - but only for one night. I wonder if the remaining nights will trickle in as separate credits over the next few days. I'm just glad I got something -- now at least I know my account is set up to receive them.

I was targeted for the 80,000 bonus and I only stayed at one IHG hotel. Got the card of course! 80,000 points have really stretched out well! With the cash and points option, I have booked 3 nights at Intercontinental Istanbul, and a night at Crowne Plaza in Amman, Jordan . It only cost me $20 worth of gas on my new visa card and $160 dollars. Plus I still have points left for another night.... Great deal!

I still haven't seen the rest of the points I was expecting nor have they answered my inquiries. Between this and only getting 1 point per $ spent on Points&Cash reservations (verses 5) I have to say this card is a bit of a bummer. (Chase did their part - PC is responsible for fulfillment on the rebate)

Agh! I just got an email for the 80,000 bonus! I was wanting that, but now I don't know if I dare apply. I applied for a Citi AA card in Jan and in March applied for a Chase CO card and the Cap1 Venture. I got all of those but I kind of feel getting this card now might be pushing it. I wish I would have gotten this sooner. Oh, what to do???

Your Citi and Capital One cards will have little effect on Chase's decision whether to approve you. Chase generally prefers not to give two cards too closely together (though I have seen exceptions to this). So, you may want to wait some weeks before applying for the PC Visa. Does your email have an expiration date for this offer? Someone else reported a late April expiration.

My husband got this card under the 60,000 bonus and we just used 45,000 to book 3 hotel nights. Does that mean we will get points back from that stay? That is a nice perk. :)

I just got an email for the 60k promo. I already have a max of 3 chase cards. Thinking my husband might be signing up for this one ;)

I also just got the offer for 80,000 today. It was quite a surprise, as this deal has been around (selectively) for awhile. I can't find an expiration date for application in my email nor on the page for sign up. I recently got the 50,000 CO card so I'm going to wait a bit, but hopefully can get in on this too.

I think I had like one stay last year for PC. Guess they are trying to get me on board :)

Yes, they have been making this offer at least since November 2010.

You know, I have three Chase cards as well, but on a fluke decided to apply last week for the 50K chase United card... and was approved ;) I was fully expecting a denial, and I was then planning on using Ingy's techniques to see about closing one card in order to take advantage of the United Chase card. So now it looks like I have four chase cards plus three chase bank accounts.

Chase really knows how to get my business -- give me plenty of free stuff!

I have a handful of Chase as well, but oddly they are not getting too much of my business!
