This will be my first time on ANZ and my first time to NZ [IMG]

I'll be travelling with my wife. What can we expect onboard? (looking forward to it)

    Welcome to NZ.

    Air NZ has 3 different premium economy products - 772, 744, 77W.
NRT normally has 772, but sometimes has 744. No chance of 77W.

All have business class food & drink, but reduced service compared with business class.
772 has economy seats with more legroom & more recline. Layout is 3-3-3, thus quite cramped.
744 has economy seats with more legroom & more recline, and a bit wider. On upper deck layout is 3-2, on lower deck a mini-cabin on each side of the a/c with 2 seats between window and aisle.
77W has new space seats which have less legroom than the other premium economy (more than economy) but far more width, more recline, and seats are in a shell (no lose of space when person in front reclines) and slightly angled.

Transit in Christchurch is short and sweet. Clear security only. If have *G status then can use the lounge. Immigration and customs are cleared in Auckland.

The flight numbers are NZ90 and NZ99. We'll have lounge access. Really excited about the trip.

The lounge access was based on you being *gold, not a Premium Economy benefit?

I am trying to get Platinum on ANA this year (for SFC) so I knew I'd be doing a lot of *A flying. I bought US Airways lounge access... [IMG]

Okay, so I just noticed that Air NZ flies out of Terminal 2 at Narita (ie the JAL/OneWorld terminal). What's the lounge situation over there? [IMG]

NZ uses the nice Qantas lounge downstairs in the satellite. This is much nicer than the Sakura lounge they used to use.

The Christchurch earthquake was today, just over 5 hours ago at time of writing.
