Well yes but unfortunately stuff like that is prevalent among some people ( some of them even who post on this very board ) and one of the most common reasons you see when flyers are gushing over say SIN or other Asian carriers is that they have "young beautiful" flight attendants as opposed to the "old hags" found on NA carriers.

I can say that in my way of thinking, that as a group frequent flyers seem have a (much) higher percentage of self-centered, spiteful and downright a** holes than then general population.

Odd that they have a height maximum for women equal to their height minimum for men.

Nice catch. Indeed the airline appears to be just as prejudiced and bigoted as the a**holes making dumb comments.

Of course they don't because it is truly more than just an adage that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." It happens to be true! No one group can claim to have monopoly on "beauty", which I believe was Mark Twain's point about travel being fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness. The more one experiences of other people and cultures, the less one is likely to discriminate. However, considering some of the stuff that has been posted here by "frequent travelers", one wonders...

Mark Twain was never right on that issue to begin with. Whenever an empire rules the planet and its reps travel everywhere, they'd inevitably still consider themselves to be exceptional and superior to everyone else. ;)

Between 336 and 323 BC, one Alexander III of Macedonia, aka "The Great", and his troops occupied all land between Greece and China, as well as parts of north Africa. I doubt that anyone would characterize their travels as 'recreational' or a 'friendship tour'...;)

True, but the cliche quote does not include 'recreational'. ;)
I'd venture a guess that those who embark on 'friendship tours' are less likely to be prejudiced, and had an open mind even before they traveled.

Exactly, which is why imperialistic conquests, including those of the first half of the last century (the British Empire in India or the Dutch occupation of Indonesia, e.g.) could not possibly be what MarkTwain had in mind. For the imperialists, the occupied people were "savages" to be exploited for the benefit of the Empire. The whole thing was predicated on prejudice -- we conquered therefore we are superior!
