One of the benefits of the new TD Infinite Privilege credit card is pre boarding on Air Canada flights.

All my travel up to date this year to USA has been on UA. I now have a trip on AC to FRA.

I am looking for experiences of pax using this benefit on AC.

Do gate agents now recognize this privilege and if so how did they recognize you as a Privilege member?

    Thanks for the feedback.

Are you talking about the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Card, MC? I am not sure on how they recognize the pax who qualify but I think it is a very questionable benefit when they only do this for the primary cardholder and not anyone else travelling with them.

TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite PrivilegeTM Card

Air Canada® 5 benefits such as:
    • Priority Check-in on Air Canada flights (Primary Cardholder)
    • Priority Boarding on Air Canada flights (Primary Cardholder)

The package I received with the TD Visa Infinite Privilege states :

"You and your travelling companion on the same reservation can enjoy the privilege of priority check in and priority boarding whenever you travel on any flight operated by AC , AC Express and AC Rouge. Benefit applies only when primary cardholder includes their Aeroplan number on their reservation at time of booking"

Concerto I have also queried a contact at AC for further clarification. I will post tneir response.

Okay. I will be curious to hear the final verdict on which version is correct.

Pre-boarding would be soooo much better than Priority Boarding! ;)

Still waiting for response from AC......

However did receive this from another frequent flyer :
I have the Privilege card as well and you show your card at the gate for any flight operated by Air Canada and receive priority boarding. Only issue is if the gate agent isn't aware of the benefit. It's a new card so expect a learning curve. "

I received a response from AC.

    "Good day,

    Thanks for the question.

    Firstly,if you have Altitude status;ie Elite status;

this supercedes the credit card application as it

is recognized as more important naturally.

Having said that the Infinite card has a designation

on your boarding pass.Instead of AC*SE for example,

the b/p will have AC*CC and this is how it would be recognized at

    boarding.

For checkin presenting the card should allow you to checkin at

    Executive Class."

I recently received the TD Aeroplan infinite privilege card...in attempting to use the benefits at the airport....no luck air canada agents do not care about this $399 annual fee card...air canada has a new board by zone system (similar to its star alliance partner united)....unfortunately air canada (once a great airline) is becoming like united (we'll be paying for movies on air canada soon). Most of the agents do not care or recognize this TD visa benefit for priority check in or priority boarding. Also the lounge pass is worthless as you need to be travelling on an Aeroplan ticket (also not easy to book). Save your money the card is not worth the $399 annual fee. I'm sure TD has no idea that air canada doesn't recognize the benefits they're selling to its customers.

It doesn't matter what any card says. Zonal boarding is the way it works now. In terms of priority check in its all about status and not some card's promise. I also note that AC has become quite strict about use of the Altitude SE100 check in. They are ensuring that only SE's use it. So that along with zonal boarding makes SE a little more valuable.

Is it an Aeroplan ticket they require, or just an Air Canada flight. I'm SE, and if I'm flying on a Delta ticket, I'm SOL at the MLL.

The TD pass specifies that it can only be used when flying on a reward flight. I suppose if you're using the card to amass enough miles for a flight but don't have status, it's not like you have many revenue flights on which you could use the pass anyway.

Your experience is not mine. With the card, I am zone 2 on my boarding pass and I also check in with priority check in/
Never had a problem with more than 15 flights.
