Does anyone know if you can pre-order a meal on the 10:30PM departure flight (TG 640)? After searching a few forums, I noticed they switch the meal service to a light supper and a breakfast. Not a fan of what I saw for the light supper and breakfast...

It's worth a call. No downside in ordering.

Might be doing that. Hopefully they will have the right answer.

There's meal service so I doubt you'll have a problem with pre-order. I've done the lobster thermidor on the breakfast 8am BKK-HKG flight, for instance.

The light supper ain't much, I'd definitely pre-order. On the overnight BKK-NRT flight in February, for breakfast though I had duck rice soup which was just out of this world good.

Hmmm it's tough to decide if I want to keep my 8AM departure on the 77W in F or switch it to the overnight flight on the 747 in F....

Keep the 8AM flight. More time to enjoy the inflight service on daytime flight + better seat :)

Thanks! Having to get a hotel room in the Narita area is hard too considering I planned on using SPG points. Hopefully there will be a Pointsbreak deal coming soon..

I pre-ordered the Lobster Thermidor for HKG-BKK leg and Pad Thai for BKK-NRT leg.. Did I make good choices?

There were mixed reviews for both of those choices on the FT thread especially the Lobster Thermidor. Many people were saying the lobster was really dry and tough. Supposedly the fish chu chee and prawn curry is good. I think I'm going to go with the prawn curry until I hear better reports about the lobster.

Will they still allow me to opt for the regular on board meal if I wanted to?

How was the Pad Thai for the BKK-NRT segment? Did you fly the 8AM to NRT?

I never tried.. I fell asleep throughout the flight. They barely had time to give me my breakfast..

The Pad Thai at the lounge was good though, although I still prefer the ones on the streets of Bangkok more I think..

No I was on the 23:40 flight.. :)

You are most welcome! Well, go to Bali and have a quick pork bite.. :p

Or go to Manado in North Sulawesi for the real feast (not just the pork) like I've had.. It was snootily divine.. :D
