I have a Samsung Tab 3 tablet, want to buy a portable battery charger, would appreciate some/a recommendation on what to buy. I have been told I need one that has at least 5,000MAh. I would think Fry's Electronics would be the place to go.

How about Amazon? I think there are some decent ones over there.

Yes, I looked at Amazon and yes, there are some good values, but am not sure which are the good ones and which are the not so good ones. Did read some reviews of a few and customers did not seem to be that pleased with the item they bought in many cases. I need it in the next few days as I am going to be travelling and wanted one with me, that's why I thought of Fry's, will be near one on the weekend. If I can get a good salesman who has some expertise perhaps he/she will steer me in the right direction.

Not sure if you have a Chronovski?
The one I bought is a monster 30,000mAh.

I only used it a few times as I usually have my devices charged every evening.

Fry's or Amazon both are great if you have a problem. Best Buys treats us well also.

These things are so cheap these days ( $15-$20) I would not waste too much time trying to pick and choose a particular one (unless it doesn't work immediately after purchase) just toss and get another one.

I got my hands on a Xiaomi charger, they're super value for money for the quality it comes with. 10,000mah at $10.

I have two of these and I use them a LOT! They live up to their claims and the flashlight has come in handy a few times too! Since I cannot post links yet look this up on Amazon:
OnGo 16,000mAh (60Wh) Portable Rechargeable Battery

5,000 is way too small. Go for 12,000 or better more.

    Try the Jackery Giant http://www.jackery.com/jackery-giant-plus
It was brought up on another thread and has received rave reviews there. It rates as 12000mAh the only negative I have is it's slow recharge and that is easily covered by charging overnight. I keep an S5 and iPad going for days with mine.

I did buy one at Best Buy in Vancouver, the brand is PNY, it has been terrific, cost was about $35.00, I have only had to use it once but it certainly did the job for me on my tablet. It has a fast and slow charge on it, and once it is fully charged it stays fully charged until needed. One of the few gadget investments I have made that has really paid off.
