Is there something to discuss, or is this another attempt to get clicks to a blog?
What's with this blog spam? Ugh.
Ironically, not the blog of the person posting the link here. Still not helpful to starting a conversation, but that's a different issue.
The gist of it is that the survey thinks people don't want to buy the annual subscriptions for E+ and checked bags. The part they miss is that United doesn't actually need to sell those subscriptions to everyone to make money from them. Basically UA wins either way. There's no downside for them I can see.

And, side note, could some please tell me how in the hell this ends up as a "trending topic"? A total of 3 comments before mine. I've also seen "trending" topics that have 1 comment.
I believe it is a combination of views and comments that make a thread show on that list. And when there are so few new threads being started here on a daily basis it isn't hard to break in to that list.
While I don't have the exact formula, views do play a role in scoring what ends up as a trending thread. While there may not be many replies there are a decent amount of views that may have all come in quickly enough to push it to trending.
