Wait -- the police found all the stolen items in the original hotel room? Either I misread that or they don't sound stolen.

Items stolen from hotel A. Police find woman in hotel B. Woman says twin stole items and returned them. Police find items in "other" hotel room. Presumably "other" meaning A, since otherwise it would say "police found items in room with woman." So the items were returned, or never stolen.
