Hilton has no Point Stretchers available on the website currently, and two separate posters on FT have reported being told by the Diamond Desk that PS is dead as a doornail. Anyone else care to contribute a data point?

This certainly makes Hilton much less appealing to me. I'm glad at least I got to use 2 point stretcher nights in November.

Seems like something had to change with the addition of premium room and points & cash awards. Personally, the premium room awards have been very appealing to me. For hotels that have low rates and occupancy, you can often find awards for lower than the standard point levels. This is essentially the same thing that was being done with point stretchers except more dynamically.

Got a 30k pt hotel for 13k in a premium room and that's not including the 30% rebate I should get from the promo.

The list has been pathetic for many years now, so no big loss for me personally, as usual with Hilton I find myself saying, "I remember when Hilton......"

Care to share which hotel is this! Till now all hotels I have looked at have premium rooms at at least 1.5 times the rate of the standard room

BTW, I forgot to mention that since award nights count and with my Diamond status, I also got the 500 pt Amex online booking bonus and my 1k point checkin bonus as well. This brings my total stay down to less than 8k for the evening.

This was at a Doubletree in SoCal for Xmas evening... so it was fairly low occupancy and very low rates at the time. I've seen hotels in Silicon Valley, Chicago and Boston also provide some discounts for the weekends as well.

I believe this is happening since premium awards are tied to the nominal room rate and occupancy (but not with a simple cent/point conversion standardized across all hotels). It won't be easy to find one as low as I was lucky to find but awards lower than the standard are out there... especially during very off peak periods.

This is definetely a hotel type you want to book a paid stay upon and then save your points for an expensive and high end AXON or GLON 6 night award.
