I and two friends are traveling on one itinerary to Europe. I booked the flights. Does this mean that sometime prior to departure my PNR will be separated from their's? Or will they stay on the same PNR as we have a LH segment once we get to Germany. If it is split is this because I am eligible for RPU and they are not?

RPUs don't work to Europe, though they can on the local segments on such an itinerary. Ditto for CPUs. If you upgrade and they do not then the PNR must split. Otherwise there is no need to split it though it may happen at check-in if you are added to an upgrade waitlist.

I used the wrong term, I would be eligible for CPU on the domestic, there will nothing for the transatlantic
