I'm that way inclined... a $25 award voucher seems like it would be a pain to redeem :p

With the recently announced devaluation, I'd go for the $25 voucher.

Devaluation is a bit strong. Nothing changed on the reward full-points redemption, and nothing changed for transfer to airline miles.

Cash & points is a very important component of the SPG program benefits. A 25% increase across the board in terms of the points required in addition to 17-25% increase of the cash portion required for standard rooms is not a minor development for people looking to stretch their SPG points. In my calculations, that's more than 10% devaluation of the overall value of these points. Although I am merely disappointed (we only have 45K Starpoints left), others think the changes are bad enough to warrant leaving the SPG program, cancelling SPG co-branded credit cards, and emptying out all Starpoints immediately and permanently. See the meltdown on TOBB!

For you it is. For a lot of people it's not. A lot of folks either use them 100% for airline miles or only for totally free rooms.

Personally, I've rarely see the discount from doing cash & points as sufficient to give up the points required.

A meltdown on TOBB is hardly evidence of a real issue. It's evidence of a day that ends in "y" for the population of whiners, scammers, and internet trolls that inhabit that corner of the internet.
