S I went to put my carryon, small by today's standard , the door/cover crashed down hitting me in the face and knocking me glasses two rows back. The 757's are wearing out. Looked like the door was dry rotted out. Maintenance came and taped it up as out of service. Just watch your head as you load your roll aboard. Anyone else had this problem?

i thought the doors opened up instead of down? regardless, do you not hold on to it while it's opening? was it made of wood? this equates to the plane falling apart?

While the 57's are likely not worn out, I will admit that many of them are certainly "tired". They've been flying since the early 80's/
