Pilots, Mechanis, FFs, #AvGeeks: is this hail damage?

    FB user Tom shared the photo below on AA's FB page. He mentions this pic was taken yesterday on a 738 routing DFW-LGA. The spoilers seem to be damaged but not any other parts of the wing.

    Very curious to get some technical explanation/thoughts on the image below. Is that hail damage?

    Kinda reminds me of the Mythbusters' Golf Ball Car that actually saved gas. Maybe the airlines saw that episode and said lets try and see if it will save fuel?
