Not a fan of Romney, but I assumed he was joking.
Tough to say what Romney means when he says anything...a) he was joking; b) he was serious; c) all of the above; d) none of the above.
Thank goodness he is not running for the office of PILOT...
...maybe he should be running for the orifice however
I'm pretty sure our current CIC has that position locked up...at least that is what his proctologist said...he was perfect!
Well viewing the shenanigans from outside of your country it seems that Romney is looking butter and butter
If he had competent and assertive advisers or handlers, they long ago would have told him that he should never attempt to tell a joke. He really does not have any humor skills.
That is the key.
I too think it was a horribly failed attempt at making light of a serious situation (wife a passenger in a genuine emergency aircraft).
Sound bite wise it sounds like an idiot trying to be holier than thou.
At the risk of turning this into some kind of political flamewar, a lot of the stuff he says "off the cuff" just makes him sound like a condescending out of touch idiot -- I think it was obvious he desperately needed someone to tell him to STFU after that $10k bet comment during the debate.
In a world where your opponents are just hanging on your every word waiting to take what you say out of context and turn it against you, I would imagine that he should be more conscious about the things he says.
