It was a bit like watching an episode of PAN AM yesterday, particularly for the earlier outfits. Then came the 60s and those knock-off Carnaby Street inspired FA dresses. I was told many of the earlier ones had to be made from scratch, based on early photos (all in black and white so the actual colours were a mystery since not many TCA staff are still alive from the 30s and 40s!) since there is no collection in some big clothes closet at Dorval. Amongst the group I was with we each took a guess at which generation of uniform we recall from our first flights on TCA/AC. Since I go back to the Northstars and SuperConnies, I wasn't far from the first wave!

Earlier ones were most likely tailored. This is consistent with other uniformed people.

Nowadays it's mostly standard issuance with minor alterations. The only one I know that is still tailored is SQ female (as per my SQ friends)
