    http://www.ausbt.com.au/review-and-...&utm_medium=flipper&utm_campaign=home-flipper

ausbt.com.au has the first review out. in general their review is positive...you can see lots of pictures in their review

specification and official photos of the PY and new Y seats can be found on their press release: http://www.cathaypacific.com/cpa/en...efID=7df5afa2aacb5310VgnVCM62000007d21c39____

but i am not quite sure about the seat design...not sure how comfortable this will be if I have to view the screen like this during most of the flight

That screen does seem quite low.

That looks really good, I'd love to see a move this way by some other airlines!

This looks like what business class once was. Very nice if it's reasonably priced.

    Thanks for posting this.

It would have been nice if they'd said whether and to what extent the seat is different from, for example, the QF premium economy seat. Photos can be misleading on their own, but superficially this seat looks quite similar to QF's. That's fine for me, but it might disappoint people who for some reason think it's in any way comparable to any of today's long-haul business class seats.

As the armrests are not removable, passengers can't sleep across empty neighbor seats.

they would if it's a superior product. They did that with their new J and claim that's the widest and blah blah blah...obviously with this boring product they can't or they will be exposing their own weakness

They look good to me. It is still economy after all...JALPak...what did you expect. a product that people who fly J would be OK with and not spend extra $$...

Their CEO said their PY will be more like regional J before the announcement. So go figure.

what...he said that what...one time? not sure how anyone expected a business like product - esp given it is rolled out on a plane with NO F...that said, the J on CX IMO now blows away any J that I have flown...and it confirms what i knew was the case when the initial photos were released of the J, CX got it right...BIG time. having now flown it twice on a 77G and 77D, remarkable!!

He IS the CEO and even one time is overpromising something they failed to deliver  and this is NOT a product specifically for markets without F. They will be rolled out to all longhaul fleet.
