Miami's new one is spiffy and nice. I was there week before last. I'll try JFK next week if my gig comes through.
I just don´t understand how a passenger travelling on First to Seattle is not considered Flagship! AA should fix that!
My first and last Flagship experience was in LAX flying from LAX to SFO after arriving from HKG. Maybe I should start flying One World again..
Why? Because you are flying that route and it should apply to you? It's not a three class aircraft, and F on the three class aircrafts is priced very differently.
I often fly F on a 763 to SFO and can't use it either.
I was in MIA last week and couldn't find the one there.
It is near the international checkin points.
Absolutely not! I think the Flagship should apply to all Transcon Flights, regardless of 3 class service or 2, because what matters most is the lenght of the flight in my opinion and if you also notice the price, some red eye to Miami are the same price as the 3 class, so even the price is not an excuse!
Everybody around these parts thinks they know how to run an airline.
I used the one at JFK last month, before it officially opened. Positive experience, especially when the TSA document checker led me to the TSA check lane instead of the regular one, even though I had an international segment (though he only saw my JFK-MIA one) and there was no indication on my boarding pass of my Trusted Traveler eligibility.
But I am still confused about eligibility to use this area. At MIA, coming off my LAN business class flight and wanting to check my bag for my MIA-JFK F flight, I was refused access to this area. However, I am sure the email to ExecPlats announcing these check-in areas indicated that we could use this area (similar to the T&Cs for using the Flagship Lounges...flying on an international ticket or 3-class domestic transcon).
Flagship Check-In is not open to EXPs sadly, unless it's the LHR version which is a different product. It's only for:
Domestic First passengers on 3 cabin aircraft, so only JFK-LAX, JFK-SFO, and MIA-LAX.
Passengers with an international F ticket in their itinerary on AA, BA, CX, or JL.
Five Star Service purchasers.
Whoopie, I just was advised that I now have Concierge Key. It may be mostly useless, but it does give access to Flagship checkin. Since there's no F service from GIG to the US on AA anymore that does count for something.
Big shot! Congrats.
If you have no use for it and find you don't need it, I can give it a good home.
David is known for four qualities:
1. He's knowedgable;
2. He shares his knowledge with others;
3. He's quick to perceive high value as in Flagship checkins and PreCheck on international PNR's;
4. He's generous and goes the extra mile for his friends.
His quoted post is directly part of taht fourth point. he's prepared to sacrifice his own interests to relieve me of a burden. I cannot impose so on your good will and generosity, David, so i'll just keep it myself for the time being.
Congratulations my friend! Let me ask you something, is your AA address in Rio or USA? I'm asking this because a source inside AA told me they do not give CKs to Brazilian residents!
Just because someone feels a particular way or has an opinion about something does not infer they are trying to "run an airline", IMHO.
Oh Ok I will try to take it into future in consideration ( or perhaps not) that I should only express my opinion when it absolutely agrees with everyone else here.
Wrong information. I am a resident of Rio de Janeiro and AAdvantage knows that. I do have a US address with them also. When they gave it they only mentioned the difference between CK at GIG and at major US airports (i.e.: no Flagship checkin). I do not know what the criteria are, and was surprised that I got it. BTW, I suspect we live fairly close to each other. I live in Alto Jardim Botânico.
I live in front of General Osorio Square in Ipanema! Lets have some drinks sometime!
