So whats so special about this new 777..... aside from the range, any other goodies...? What routes are these new birds expected to serve...?

I vaguely feel like you've asked this question before in another thread.

The quick answer is that they're introducing new cabins in First and Business which will be considerable upgrades over the current product. They will also be introducing a new Economy lay out which will be a bit of a downgrade. New cabin info here: LINK.

The launch route is DFW-GRU, followed by DFW-LHR, JFK-LHR, and LAX-LHR.

There was a mention of an interview with AA exec earlier today with statement regarding an impending refresh of branding and livery, partly due to 787's composite skin requiring paint and therefore it not being able to remain silver/metallic. This may be the beginning of that.

AA has been teasing the possibility of a change for months actually, this isn't exactly unexpected. ;)

I wondered on another board if the gray paint still needs a dark blue on the upper part. (ala USAirways) before being finished.
