We don't have current plans to fly on any airline's A380, let alone all seven, but it's fun to click through the photos in the L.A. Times. :)

Which would be your favorite config, based either on the photos or on personal experience?

I'm partial to SQ. Can't beat the 1-2-1 configuration of SQ's J, it feels more like many airlines' F. I also like the fact that you can sit on the upper deck when flying Y on some of their A380s.

I was just oohing and aahing over the pictures, and my wife jokingly asked me if I was looking at porn. I said yes- plane porn!

I like the economy sections that are 2-4-2, and it looked like China Southern C was 1-2-1 in an innovative design, alternating the 2 middle seats so that you can fly next to a companion, or spread out for more privacy. SQ is really nice. As for F, well, an enclosed suite would be amazing! Not to mention a shower on board....

For economy, it looks to be about a wash. Real differentiators would maybe be soft product (food, service, etc), user-friendliness and content of AVOD, availability of power ports, and seat comfort/pitch. And maybe if you have some preference on the color or something.

For business, all I know is definitely not LH - if these are anything like the seats in their 747's, I'll pass. Also, QF doesn't look all that appealing. The pictures from AF were terrible and couldn't get a very good sense of the cabins. I'd say KE looks pretty nice, as do SQ and EK (of course). CZ looks very interesting, with their staggered (?) seating in the middle section. Very nice if you want privacy, but the next row would be great if traveling with a companion.

For first, I'd say SQ looks tops for my preferences, followed by EK. CZ F looks relatively spartan, and what is that faucet-looking thing in KE F? The KE bars are a nice touch, although it looks like many of them have lounges for C/F. Not sure about the AF museum display thing, though. Really playing up the hoity-toity French culture thing ;)

Finally, given my *A affiliation, you can bet that if I ever did fly on an A380, it'd probably be on either SQ or LH. :D

I've only been on EK's A380, but the SQ F looks gooooood!
