As I'm watching (and contributing to) Gargoyle's list of photo threads grow and seeing the suggestion for theme specific threads (cemetery's, aircraft, etc). I wonder if it wouldn't be helpful to have a forum for photo threads. I can see the 'General Discussion | Travel' forum getting a bit thick with them in the future.

I'd been thinking about that. For the most part it's a good idea; however, I also think a lot of people will got to to the destination/travel sections looking for info on a locale, and the photo threads add a lot to those forums.

This is an example of where linking a thread between two or more forums, or having a single thread appear in two or more forum listings, could be very helpful.

As you point out, destination/travel could get clogged up with lots of these threads- that's already happening in Asia. Moving all the photo threads to a photo forum, and linking from a wiki on each regional forum, as you suggest, might be the solution.

What about a sub-forum of 'General Discussion | Travel' for photos and then, as you suggest, linking from the 'Destination Travel | [X]' forums to that sub-forum..

Or perhaps move it up a tier, to Travel | Dining since people take food photos too.
There's a food porn thread, I'll look at that again- probably should be added to my list.
