Since I never use fb and never linked to spg thought this was odd. Called and was told the address it came from is NOT a legitimate spg email. The frightening thing is the body of the email contained my spg account number!
Of course there is a link to sign in with account number and PASSWORD. DO NOT DO THIS

    Be careful our there.

I got the Facebook one. But it was a Facebook name that I do not use. Noticed that the sending company used an AOL.Com Address. So I knew it was a fake. How many legit companies use AOL as a mail server???

mine wasn't from an aol.com address, but it was from an address that sounded like spg but the Plat concierge checked and said it was NOT a legitimate spg address
Still wonder how they got my account number!

Just like lists of credit card numbers are available on the black market, I wouldn't be surprised if lists of SPG (or other) numbers/names/emails were available.

Wow. I didn't click the link yet, but it looked legit to me. Had my SPG number on it too. The link was spgpromos.com

    Sending address was GCCUSTSERVICE@confirm.starwoodhotels.com

    Looks pretty legit to me

That's the whole point, ain't it? To look legit and deceive?

As a follow up, my email looked legit because it was legit. Mine was sent from Starwood according to SPG Champion.

Thank you Starwood for the verification.

Luckily my delete box hadn't emptied so I forwarded it to you, HOWEVER the platinum concierge and her supervisor were adamant that it was not from spg, and even though I asked repeatedly to forward it to them they said no and there was no address I could send it to!

Maybe some education of "right hand left hand" (does one department know what the other is doing)is in order.
