Petition calls for airline seat standards to end the cabin crush

With commercial airlines packing more passengers per plane, many fliers believe that the federal government should adopt minimum airline seat standards for legroom and width to ensure the safety and comfort of travelers.

That is the sentiment of more than 30,000 people who signed a petition that was sent last month to Federal Aviation Administration chief Michael Huerta...

The FAA does have minimum standards. They are based on evac testing.

IMO. If you don't like the seating, cabin crew, meals (or lack of), schedule, or the color of the plane don't give them your money and the problem will correct it's self. If you get the government involved all you will get is higher costs now and maybe a change years from now!

    We don't need more regulation.

A petition asking for regulation by a private industry is worth only the paper that it is printed on. You can complain until the cows come home, but if you continue to do business with companies that reduce the size of the passenger space, they will realize that they can continue to do so. To get meaningful regulation would require an act of Congress (in the USA) but we all know that ain't gonna happen.

I'm sorry, 'meaningful' regulation / legislation? from congress? May I have some of what you have?
