    Packets of peanuts are in no danger of disappearing completely from airplanes. In a nutshell, there's a law protecting them.

    The government can't make policies about peanuts on planes without more scientific study.

    Personally I prefer pretzels, but a lot of airlines don't give those out anymore, either. Sigh.

    I've just seen glasses of ice being passed around....one day someone will have an allergy to the ice and that will be banned......

    Being given peanuts is a pleasant surprise; I assume no food whatsoever unless I'm up in first or business.
