any bonus malls or rewards programs give extra points for car insurance? specifically progressive?
You'll sometimes see airlines offer a fixed amount of bonus miles/points for getting a car insurance quote and then more for getting a policy, but I'd highly doubt you'd see a variable bonus anywhere. I got US miles for getting a quote with 21st Century Insurance, but they didn't offer more for actually getting the policy, so I passed, since it was still more than what I pay with USAA.
Keep in mind that some insurers now pull credit for insurance quotes.
Are they required to state that on the application?
I imagine so, but don't know for certain.
I found out the hard way that State Farm is now doing this and one other company I can't remember at this minute. And it was stated nowhere on the application when I received my quote.
