I have hit my spending requirement as of today. Bill isn't due till the 9th, but my deadline to reach the requirement is the 14th. If I pay now, would that mean my miles would post faster/less risk of Citi somehow screwing up and not giving me my miles?

Miles post a day or two after your statement closes. I have never know when you pay to have any effect on when your miles post.

Right-on, Miles & Smiles! Chase & Amex work the same way!

as far as i know ... paying does nothing to move up your statement close date (it only frees up your credit line) which is what you want so that the points/rewards can generate.

Paying you bill will have no effect on your due date. However, some lenders will change your due date if you call and ask. I'm not sure about Citi though.

Citi will change your due date, however I would highly advise against changing the due date before the bonus posts. You run the risk of your billing cycle skipping a month due to the changed due date and could result in not getting your miles for even longer. I've seen it happen too many times.

If all things are in order, you'll get your miles.

The process has nothing to do, whatsoever, with paying ahead of the billing date.
