We are pleased to share that Passbook is now integrated with the SPG App for iPhone and includes new SPG Stay Passes. Stay Passes are uniquely customized for every hotel across all brands. Once you’ve installed the latest SPG App for iPhone update, here’s how Stay Pass works:

    • For each reservation, an SPG member can add a Stay Pass to their Passbook that will display their reservation information including a confirmation number.
    • Then, when a member arrives at a hotel, the pass automatically appears on their iPhone notification screen.
    • After check-in at most hotels, the pass automatically updates to include a member’s room number.
    • Upon check-out, the pass will update once again to encourage the member to submit a review of their experience.

The app integration also includes the ability to add your SPG Member Card to Passbook or you may do so by visiting spg.com/passbook on your iOS6 device.

For more info please visit spg.com/passbook.

Now, go get the update for the SPG App for iPhone.

Any chance the pass can include access to my folio upon checkout, rather than having to wait for an email or posting online?

I don't believe that's one of the published benefits among any of those mentioned. Who knows as far as the future is concerned. I'm pretty sure they aren't done with all that may be possible yet.
