Travelers flying through Hobby Airport this summer might want to opt for a ride from a friend or take a bus to avoid circling full parking lots and risk missing takeoff.

The Houston Airport System said demand for parking spaces at Hobby is at an all-time high this summer and is encouraging passengers to visit the airport's website to check parking availability before leaving home.

Airport officials say that if the lots are near full, travelers should consider public transportation, car or shuttle service or helpful friends or family.

Since a subscription is required. Why will parking be a mess. From what little I could see they are building a new parking garage. And I would guess that could take a few hundred parking spaces out of commission. But the dire warnings also got my radar up. If Hobby is going to be that busy, won't the inside of the airport be as hectic as the parking?
