Orlando International Airport is making a major change to its customs procedures.
The airport no longer requires foreign travelers to fill out an I-94 form. It’s one of five airports in the country waiving the form and using an electronic scanning device instead.
“I think it's a very good thing, because we don't have to spend time in line filling out the forms, and it's a good thing for us,” traveler Gabriela Paez said.
Airport officials said the new electronic system collects information from passengers’ tickets. They said that will speed up the time travelers spend in customs.
Officials said the faster lines won’t compromise security. They said information they typically reviewed after passengers arrived will now be scrutinized long before the plane lands.
