Owing to bizarre incompetency on the part of the UA staff in BWI,
I'm landing at ORD at 11, leaving at 6 next morning. The 1K desk
offered me a hotel room, but I fear that 4 hours of sleep makes me
a candidate for missing my flight. Alternative? Drink all night.
Anyone know of a bar open way late at or close to the airport?

That's tough find I think out there.

Can you take the room...then simply stay awake in the room?

Try the W XYZ Bar at the Aloft Hotel it's a short cab ride from ORD and the bar is open late. http://www.starwoodhotels.com/alofthotels/property/dining/index.html?propertyID=3124

Alternatively, if you're looking to venture further into the city check out some bars on Yelp either in the Gold Coast or River North areas.

    Good Luck!

Thanks to both of you. My inclination was to do what the Banker
suggests (I am kind of old), so I am now hanging at the Hilton,
having had a nice midnight burger and Sam Octoberfest courtesy
of United. Tomorrow this morning at 6 I get breakfast
courtesy of United and then try to get on with my itinerary.

It could be worse, you could be at the "airport" hotels at DEN.
