Anybody know what they're up to? About 1/3 of the space on the ramp side of the club is fenced off with plastic sheeting. They've got all the furniture stacked up in there too.

I just hope the decor is different from the renovated RCCs on the B concourse...

I am hoping for showers, CO keeps them in the hub cities why not the new UA?

+1 on the showers. Admirals Club has showers too.

It would be great if they added showers, but I have a feeling it would just be some new carpet and thats it.

Not to confuse by avatar, but I had to chime in. From what
I've seen, the CO showers, though better than nothing,
appear to be little better than gym showers (though more
private). RCC members need not have sugarplums dancing
    in their heads.

They're better than the Alitalia showers... (ever had an airport shower with no hot water and a clogged drain? and where you're told that you are 'lucky' that there were shower kits that day? :) )

I have used the shower facilities in the IAH E PC and the EWR C3 PC... The IAH shower is really nice. EWR C3 showers is nice, they just need to fix the shower handle and maybe install a better shower head...

I'd be just happy with the showers like CO has.... as long as it is clean and in good repair I'll be happy.

As opposed to the RCC showers... oh, wait.

The lack of showers at the RCCs has been very noticeable (and disappointing) by me a couple of times (connecting through ORD after mid-con redeyes).

IMO, they're really no better or worse than most lounge shower rooms.

There are showers between the RCC and the IFL. GS gets access to them on international flights. You can get to them via the RCC or the IFL.I did enter them via the RCC once but from my (vague) memory there were only 2 showers.

The showers in the EWR PC are fine. They are not fancy, but they serve their purpose. There is nothing more refreshing than coming off a redeye or a longhaul and having the ability to take a shower -- especially if you are heading straight into work. I really hope that UA adds showers to the RCC's in all of the hub cities.

Whatever they're doing I'm sure we will "like it". Jeff told us so.

Which section of the room is this? The "ramp side" is sort of divided into three areas - the one furthest from the entrance faces a ramp where there is often a 747 parked - most of this area holds bistro tables, then there is a largish section sort of behind the bar that has a lot of small tables and lounge chairs and a big screen TV, the remaining part of the space is a semi-closed off room that is now called the "quiet zone" (was this once the smoking area?

Completely agree with showers for the new "United Clubs" that were once legacy RCCs. Even if they are not palatial, working simple showers prior to or after an international flight or after a red eye before going to work are heavenly!

Gonna go against the grain here. I find taking showers in very high-traffic places like domestic clubs to be kind of gross. Even after an international flight, and/or after a red-eye.

Some people complain vociferously about the cleanliness of RCCs when there are coffee cups and plates left around. Yet, some of the same people have no problem using a shower that will likely be "maintained" by the same folks.

Yeah, in that case I'd rather show up at a meeting smelly and unkempt.

The plan to renovate the RCCs at the hubs has been on the books for many months now. The C club at ORD is harder to do than the two on the B concourse because of some need to move plumbing around, I believe. And I expect that the decor will be quite similar to the new B concourse clubs. That's the direction the RCCs were headed for these renovations.
