    Who Pays for the Damage to a Rental Car After a Collision Caused by the Driver?
    After not driving very far from the airport at which the car was rented, jakem4800 was involved in a collision which he believes he was at fault. Although he has his own automobile insurance coverage which may or may not cover the damage to the rental car — and he apparently would rather not go through the insurance company which underwrites his policy — will the minimum liability insurance offered by his credit card pay?

    To the chagrin of nubiles, Dollar Rent A Car very quietly changed its policy where the rental car must now be returned with a full tank of gas and a receipt for the purchase of fuel within ten miles of the rental car return location; and if you do not have a receipt as proof, a fee of $9.99 will be charged — even if the gas tank is clearly full. While it may be enough to end what was once a beautiful relationship, is this policy really new — and is Dollar Rent A Car justified in charging this fee?
