Sun, sand, surf, sundowners, spas, shopping and a large serving of style. That’s Sydney. Beat the clock and pack in the best of the city’s can’t-miss sights in a day. Get out on the harbour; take in an exhibition, picnic in the Botanical Gardens and fly in seaplane. Here’s how to make the most of a short stay in town, stylishly.

Arrive on the early flight and start the day with a frolic in the surf at Bondi – bask in the sun and enjoy a swim before walking around the stunning coastal path to Bronte for breakfast in a café on the palm-fringed beach.
Head into the city for lunch with a view. Sample Sydney rock oysters or some grilled fish with water views. Try the Oyster Bar right on the water at Circular Quay.

Float under the bridge on a boat tour or if you are on a budget take a short round trip on one of the ferries to get the experience without the cost.

Take a walk around the Rocks market and experience a little history of the first landings amid the quaint buildings and cobbled streets.

Catch an exhibition at the MCA Museum of Contemporary Art.

Take a walk in the Botanical gardens, snap photos of the Opera House and enjoy afternoon tea under the eaves of the eves, serenaded by an opera singer.

Sundowners in Sydney: head to the rooftop bar at the Park Hyatt in Circular Quay or Horizon at the Shangri La on the 40th floor for a cocktail with a bird’s eye view of the bridge, Opera House and harbour as the sun sets.

Don oversized sunglasses for an early dinner at Wooloomooloo wharf. Manta restaurant has an oyster bar and champagne bar and mixes up great cocktails by the water. Travel by water taxi to feel ‘so Sydney’.
