    Keep your eye on the prize
    This Saturday, February 12, 2011, Vancouver will be celebrating the one year anniversary of the Winter 2010 Olympics. It’s going to be a day of celebrations and a full post will be dedicated to the happenings of the weekend, but here are some road closures that you will want to pay attention to if you plan on driving through Vancouver this Saturday.
    Taken from the City of Vancouver’s website, this is the information that they have posted:
    On February 12th from 6:00am to 11:59pm the following locations downtown will be closed for the Olympic Anniversary Celebration.
    Granville District
    Closure times
    Granville, from Georgia to Smithe 06:00
    Robson, Burrard to Seymour, 06:00
    Parking Restriction:
    06:00 – 23:59
    Granville, Georgia to Nelson
    Robson, Burrard to Seymour
    February 12th 18:00 – 03:00 February 13th
    Granville, from Nelson to Drake
    Closure time: 16:00 – 23:59
    Parking Restriction:
    15:00 – 23:59
    Mainland, Nelson to Davie
    Helmcken, Mainland to Hamilton
    Canada Place
    Closure time: 14:00 – 22:00 (dependent upon crowd)
    Parking Restriction:
    13:00 – 22:00
    Canada Place, Burrard to Thurlow (including multi-way)
    Thurlow, Canada Place to Cordova
    Traffic delays are expected so motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
